Congratulations to Kelsey Fullerton who was named March Spotlight Athlete of the Month! Kelsey started with Fury just over a year ago when she realized her health and wellness had been put on the back burner after starting her family. Keeping up with her three young kids was proving to be difficult and after meeting a CrossFit athlete at her work she was inspired to get back in shape and start living a healthier lifestyle. You have probably seen Kelsey at the gym in the evenings as she rarely misses a day. Recently she surprised herself by not just attempting a workout as prescribed but doing very well with the heavier weights. Always willing to take advice from her coaches and give 110%, she will soon be the athlete you keep your eye on in class for the time to beat. Here are some questions we asked regarding her time with Fury.
What brought you to Crossfit?
I was overweight and the scale kept going up! I started feeling tired and I had a difficult time keeping up with my 3 young kids. I met a CrossFit athlete while I was at work and she became my inspiration. She was so fit and strong. I wanted to be like her one day! There was no better way to start then to show up to Fury and give it a try…. After day one I was addicted. It has been one of the greatest decisions I have made for not just me but also my family.
What has impacted you the most during your time at Fury?
Learning that my biggest competition is myself. The coaches are great and I have fun while working out. I love the sense of community and working out with friends. I always have new goals to meet and I get excited when I do. I have learned to fuel my body with healthy foods and I continue to have more energy.
Any other comments you want to share with current or potential members?
You are going to get out of it what you put into it. The question is how bad do you want it? Show up even if you don’t want to or don’t feel like it…You’ll always be glad you did.
Keep up the hard work Kelsey! We are excited to see you push yourself this next year and see what personal records you set.
