In the kids class, we try to include all 10 fitness elements: Endurance, Stamina, Strength Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance and Accuracy.  That means balance beams and agility ladders along with the standard knees to elbows and thrusters.  The younger kids worked through an obstacle course that also included box jumps, lateral hops and box jumps.  They had to go fast but only fast enough to maintain balance and accuracy.

The older kids started with agility and balance on the same elements, then 5 rounds of 10 knees to elbows, 10 thrusters and 10 box jumps.  They all worked really hard, but saved enough energy for yet another aspect of fitness.  “Play a new sport (fitness in 100 words)”  They were joined by the teen class for some Dodgeball, with burpee and pushup penalties for getting hit.

We will definitely be spending more time on games and skills during our “Parents’ Night Out.”  Mark February 12th on your calendar and sign up and the front desk to reserve your kids’ place for the evening.  Who knows, they might even have more fun than you that night.
