		<description><![CDATA[Words cannot begin to explain the effort, anticipation and finally satisfaction from an event like the Furious Fundraiser! First off we need to recognize everybody behind the scenes, because without them this would have never happened. Secondly lets hand it to the athletes who train and prepare and many of whom traveled a good distance to test their fitness against others from the valley. Finally we cannot forget the reason for the fundraiser and the fact that if it were no for people like Travis Murphy, the world would not be the place it is today. Results from the event can be found here. The Run Down The event was capped the night before when we broke 200  participants. The CrossFit competition was capped at 64 people and I deeply apologize to anyone we had to turn away.  We reopened the registration for the 5k at 7am the day of and had another 50 signups. At 8am after an introduction from the Goodyear Police Chief and the National Anthem the runners were off! Big thanks to the Goodyear Police Department for all the traffic help they provided. <h1><span style="color: #000000;">The Run Down</span></h1>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><a href="http://www.crossfitfury.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/5k-run.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-7036" title="5k run" src="http://www.crossfitfury.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/5k-run-209x275.jpg" alt="" width="209" height="275" /></a>The event was capped the night before when we broke 200  participants. <p><span style="color: #000000;">As the CrossFit runners neared the finish line, they were informed that the next event started at immediately upon finishing the run and they had 60 seconds from that moment to complete as many burpees as possible. Derek Kneadler who trains with <a href="www.crossfitphoenix.com" target="_self"><span style="color: #0000ff;">CrossFit Phoenix</span></a>, totaled the most with 26, this was after placing second overall in the run. Amanda Butterfield won for the ladies with 23.</span></p>
<h1><span style="color: #000000;">Kids</span></h1>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><a href="http://www.crossfitfury.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Globtrotter.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-7039" title="Globtrotter" src="http://www.crossfitfury.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Globtrotter-173x275.jpg" alt="" width="173" height="275" /></a>After the run and burpees the CrossFitters had some rest and it was time for the kids fun run and obstacle course. The distance was approximately 550m and the kids had 5 separate obstacles to navigate. Ranging from hurdles, tire jumps and even a hay bale pyramid was used to test their abilities. Kicking off the race was &#8220;Buckets&#8221; from the Harlem Globetrotters and honestly I think the adults were just as impressed as the kids! In addition the face painters, bounce houses and snacks kept the kids and parents pretty occupied.</span></p>
<h1><span style="color: #000000;">Final Events</span></h1>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><a href="http://www.crossfitfury.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Push-Jerk.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-7041" title="Push Jerk" src="http://www.crossfitfury.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Push-Jerk-182x275.jpg" alt="" width="182" height="275" /></a>The third event was a short couplet of 145lb barbell clean and jerks and chest to bar pull-up with reps being 12-9-6. Michael Moseley and Amanda Butterfield of <span style="color: #0000ff;"><a href="www.crossfitnow.com" target="_blank"><span style="color: #0000ff;">CrossFit Now</span></a></span> each had the best time of the day with 4:04 and 5:03 respectively. After the standings were calculated we decided to only move with the top 24 men and 12 women effectively cutting half of the competition and the final workout was announced.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">The final workout was a chipper of a 1200m row, 5 rope climbs to 15&#8242;, 20 handstand pushups, 20 front squats at 185lbs and finished with a 400m run carrying a 45lb plate. Jeff Brennan of CrossFit Scottsdale crushed the event in 14 minutes and 42 seconds. Finally Fury had a showing at our own event when Leah finished in 15:18, the second fastest time overall for the day!</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><a href="http://www.crossfitfury.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Ladies-Row.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-7043" title="Ladies Row" src="http://www.crossfitfury.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Ladies-Row-275x182.jpg" alt="" width="275" height="182" /></a>When the dust settled and scores were tallied consistency as always pays off, placing 3rd, 1st, and 2nd in the last two workouts Amanda Butterfield wins for the ladies and Derek Kneadler who placed 2nd, 1st, 19th and 13th took the mens top spot!</span></p>
<h1>Purpose</h1>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><a href="http://www.crossfitfury.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/American.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-7045" title="American" src="http://www.crossfitfury.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/American-182x275.jpg" alt="" width="182" height="275" /></a>Remembering again our purpose for the event, giving back to those who selflessly sacrifice the most, with everyones help we raised $5400 for the Murphy Family. We thank each and everyone one of your for your help which made the event as good as it was. Big thanks to all of our sponsors for the event and all the hard working souls from Fury who put hours and hours of their own time to make this run so smoothly.</span></p>
<p>Finally, we cannot forget that this was also our Rubber Chicken Competition! So what two bad ass mofos from the gym do you think took home to the coveted rubber chicken?… Well if you have seen the scoreboards for the past few months you know that Josh and Leah were aiming for the prize! Congratulations guys and keep training hard because now all eyes are on you!</p>

Also this Saturday there is a 5k and 10k in Litchfield Park. Remember this is a great chance to broaden the pool of athletes that you compete against therefore making you a better athlete. Plus it is great PR for the gym and a huge confidence builder for you guys. There is nothing like kicking the but of somebody at their own sport, just imagine them trying yours&#8230; So its a rest day and nothing like a good video to make you realize how weak you actually are&#8230; Regardless this video is bad ass! These are two great chances to be active and test your skills. We encourage you to attend one if not both(PR in a weeks time??) Most importantly&#8230; I dont want anyone &#8220;training&#8221; for either of these&#8230; just keep doing what your doing! One new item is the gyms Facebook page, we have decided to keep updates throughout the day of best performances.
