As you know, it’s important what you do in the gym but it’s also important to get out of the gym and push your limits in other ways. Over the last month members have done things they never thought they would have done before joining CrossFit. Earlier this month, Fury members’ Chrissy Calderwood, Rebecca Glenn (pictured) and Julicia Singleton ran the IMS Arizona Half Marathon and this past weekend Rebecca decided to go “Forest Gump” style and ran in the Ragnar Relay Del Sol, a 197 mile running relay, day and night, that took Rebecca and her 11 pals through the beautiful Arizona Desert starting in Wickenburg and ending in Tempe! Way to go Rebecca!
Now for those of us who do not have the drive to do a Ragnar race or a half marathon (yet), push yourself to try something “extra” outside the gym. Try a 5K around your neighborhood or even better join us at the Desert Edge track at 7:30am every Saturday for some fun sprinting, shuttles or stadium stairs. A few trips to the track and you will start to see improvements in your running at the gym.
Don’t forget, after the track we grab a coffee and a friend and meet back at the gym for our Free Intro class at 9am. Saturdays are not to be missed at Fury and they are only going to get better come Sectional Saturdays starting in just 2 weeks.
