Putting In Work

Next Tuesday is the official start of the 2011 CrossFit Games season and this year is going to be the best one yet! On Tuesday CrossFit will announce the first of six workouts which will determine which individuals and affiliate teams that will move on the Regionals and you can bet a buffalo nickel that CrossFit Fury is more then ready.

We have now registered our Team on the CrossFit Games site and we encourage each and everyone of you to register as an athlete then join our gym so that you can take part in the 2011 CrossFit Games and compare your times and scores against the fittest athletes in the world!! Next Saturday starting at 11am we will be hosting the first Sectional WOD in a judged format where all of our competitors will be laying it on the line to earn Fury a spot at Regionals and from there the Games!

Just in time for the Games two more amazing ladies have now mastered the muscle up and both within a 4 day period… and at the time of writing this Adriane and Kayla have completed nearly a dozen muscle ups! At this rate Fury has a pretty good chance of taking home the Affiliate Cup and being named the fittest gym in the world! My hat is off to everyone one of our members for all the hard work you put in day in and day out, it definitely shows.
Today we had a 2 hour Olympic Lifting session with Coach Matt Foreman covering the Snatch and Clean and Jerk. With over a dozen Fury athletes in attendance we spent some really good time pushing our limits, learning from our mistakes and fine tuning our lifts. Many of us hit PR’s today and I think everyone of us took away something that will better our lifting down the road. Look to see another one of these sessions in 4-6 weeks from now, and until then, just keep being awesome! Also, because I am in the betting mood I am putting it out there that by this time next month there will be 3 possibly 4 men at Fury who can snatch 100+ kilos. Who wants to take me up on this?

Just in case you have not noticed, the weather is amazing and it is not going to last, get out and enjoy your fitness while it is still enjoyable to do so! Here is our very own Rebecca enjoying 17 kilometers of fitness this morning…. so glad I had that lifting session to go to!
PEACE!
