It is time for all of those New Year’s Resolutions. Are they a good thing, or are we just deceiving ourselves? I figure this is as good a time as any to try to change your life for the better. It could be reading more, exercising more often or managing your money better, but we all have things we need to work on as we enter a new year. Whatever your issue is, maybe this is also a good time to consider making a resolution for someone else too.
Eating clean is hard for all of us, but if you are a parent you know the battle is twice as hard for your kids. It is tough to get them to eat vegetables, they don’t like most forms of meat, and all of the ‘normal’ kid food is either fried, carbs, or fried carbs. Despite what we have all learned about nutrition, sometimes it is easier to just give in and let the little ones eat what every other kid eats. Why not take this chance to make the resolution to help your kids eat better?
There are a bunch of internet resources on why kids should eat clean and sites with recipes for paleo meals. This is a great chance to create some new eating patterns. Experts say that it takes 6 weeks of repeating a new behavior before it becomes a habit. Well, the MacDonald family is starting a 6 week experiment to eat clean as a family and get our kids to eat as well as we do. It won’t be easy, or convenient, but definitely worth it.
