The Advanced Kids class is cancelled this week, but that doesn’t mean it has to be a day off. There are so many ways to get in a good workout that you don’t have to wait for a class to get faster or stronger. In place of our class this week, here is a suggested workout to try at home with your kids.
Warm-up (not for time): 3 rounds of 15 pushups and 15 squats. Try for slow, perfect form and no knee pushups
Workout: Set your watch for 8 minutes and go for a walk/run. Sprint from one light pole to the next. When you get there start walking to the next pole. As soon as you reach the next light pole immediately start sprinting until you reach the next light pole. Repeat this sprint/walk pattern for the full 8 minutes. Try to keep your sprints intense and try to not stop moving at any time. At the 4 minute mark, turn around and work your way back home.
Cool down: Do some BIG lunge steps and hang out in the bottom of the lunge. This will help stretch out all of those sprinting muscles.
